Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics was founded in 1962 and today is one of the leaders in Russian engineering education.
At the present time one of TUSUR’s main aims is the generation of waves of entrepreneurs in the field of knowledge-driven business.
The Institute for Innovations is part of TUSUR which prepares future graduates in order to realize innovative projects and create competitive knowledge-driven enterprises.
Innovation is a new approach in the field of technology and organization of work based on the use of science and the latest experience, enabling a qualitative improvement in the effectiveness of production systems or the quality of production.
Creating conditions for new inventions, developing new products, utilizing non-standard thinking, creating likeminded teams, defending intellectual property, creating enterprises, attracting investments, introducing high technology to markets, managing projects from start to finish, creating the right conditions for innovative activity, forming regional innovation systems – these are all parts of a single innovation cycle, which is the focus of our Institute.

For assisting students in creating their own business enterprises, the following organizations exist in the Institute for Innovations:
Student Business Incubator
The SBI holds an annual competition for students who want to base their projects at the Incubator. Winners of the competition get everything they need to start their companies even while studying – an office, all required equipment, and also initial capital.
The Office assists students, postgraduates and university employees in the commercialization of their research and also in raising funds to enable market penetration.
Technology Transfer Office
Promotes the goods and services of our young knowledge-driven enterprises through a network of representative offices in more than 100 Russian cities.
International IT Center
Prepares highly-qualified specialists in the field of IT. The center’s main task is to give graduates practical IT knowledge in order to make them competitive in this market area.
Double Degree Program
Students have the opportunity to receive a bachelor’s degree in the field of innovation management from Empire State College, part of the State University of New York. The degree is taken via distance learning; classes are in English.
English Language Club
For the realization
of any project on an international level it is necessary to speak English well.
The club offers seminars with experienced teachers and also seminars with the
participation of native speakers.
